Camiguin | Morning grind at the White Island
Situated in the Northern Island of Mindanao, Camiguin is considered the second smallest province in the Philippines. Camiguin Island has seven (7) volcanos in total including the famous Mt. Hibok Hibok that erupted in the 1950s. Old folks believe that this island exists throughout volcanic eruptions way back in time. With namesake “Islands-born of fire”.
Yet the volcanic Island of Camiguin is described as the most peaceful Island paradise in the country, blessed with several tourist attractions, spring, beaches, waterfalls, and the people that make tourists are mumble staying here.
White Island is one of nature's gifts. It has a horseshoe-shaped sandbar, constantly moving and reshaping depends on the wind and wave strikes. White Island is more or less two (2) kilometers boat ride from the Mambajao coastline. Just hire a Small boat available on the beachfront, they normally operate from five (5) in the morning onwards. White Island is totally naked, with no trees but limited removable shelters. As experienced, better to go early to have a longer time to enjoy and made the best island experience.
The most beautiful view is before the sun bursts; seems like rejuvenation to confront the new beginning. On the south side of the island is full of view over Mt. Hibok-Hibok, sometimes he's too shy hiding in the clouds.
