The Simpang Lima Gumul Monument in Kediri, Indonesia

Simpang Lima Gumul Monument (SLG) is located in Kediri Regency, East Java. It's likely all rubberneckers would drop by once they pass the area. In the evening, the nuance becomes charmer and suitable for hanging out. The construction of the SLG monument began in 2003 likewise to the Arc de Triomphe of Paris, France, and was inaugurated in 2008.

The SLG monument covering the 37 hectares land area. The monument itself has a bed area of 804 square cadences and a height of 25 cadences with 6 beds, 3 stairs with 3 cadences high. Each ciphering reflected the anniversary of Kediri Regency, March 25, 804AD. This figure will be initiate on the side of the monuments, curving defecting the history of Kediri in handcrafts and culture.

Presently, this monument wax an iconic corner of the Kediri Regency. It cannot deny that the SLG monument is really a game-changer, the appearance is really changing the shape of this City, rubbernecks came and drop by not just to learn the history also to look up the majestic shape and grand size. In one corner, a statue of Ganesha gained my attention. It's said one of the gods that are universally worshiped by the Hindus.

Although both SLG monument and France’s L’Arc de Triumph has similarity in design, each of them has a different story to tell. The SLG symbolizes the profitable robustness which will be the center of the new skimping and trade of Kediri while the Arc de Triomphe of Paris is for recognizing the Napoleon War during the revolution. Besides as the tallest triumphal arch in every area. It was built to give a deep symbol to every success and unity of the people.

HOW TO GET THERE
From Surabaya City & Malang City,
. There are schedules of routes bound for Malang and Surabaya. From the said municipalities, reserved a train ticket bound for Kediri.

If you’re using the private vehicle
From Surabaya, you may spend 2 hours trip moment or fresh than to get to Kediri Regency. It's a 120 km transportation crossing the Surabaya – Mojokerto Highway and Mojokerto – Kertosono Highway.
At Kediri, simply take Raya Kediri – Pare Street for fair 18 kilometers or lower than 30 minutes ride
