Discovering the Rich Culture and Heritage of Talacogon, Agusan del Sur

 Talacogon is a municipality placed withinside the northeastern part of Mindanao, Philippines. Situated in the landlocked province of Agusan del Sur, Talacogon is surrounded by rolling hills and mountains. Pangadu Festival

The Pangadu Festival is a colorful celebration of appreciation for nature's bounty, especially the flora and fauna. Held annually from November 12-13, the festival showcases the city's rich cultural heritage and traditions. It offers a variety of activities such as street dances, parades, agricultural fairs, and beauty pageants. The highlight of the festival is the street dance competition, where performers in colorful costumes dance to the beat of traditional music. This festival is a must-see for anyone wanting to experience Talacogon's rich culture and the warm hospitality of its people.


Population and Economy

As of the 2020 census, Talacogon, Agusan del Sur has a population of 68,012 covering a land area of ​​321.60 square kilometers with a population density of 211 people per square kilometer. 

 Economically, Talacogon is classified as a major community with an annual income of around P200 million. The main industries in this area are agriculture and agroforestry, with rice, maize, coconuts, and bananas being the main agricultural products. Livestock and poultry farming also make important contributions to the local economy. Additionally, 

Talacogon has a growing tourism industry with several natural attractions such as waterfalls, hot springs, and caves. Various festivals are held in the municipality throughout the year, attracting domestic and foreign tourists. With its rich cultural heritage and abundant natural resources, Talacogon remains a promising destination for economic growth and sustainable tourism.
