The Kaligaon Festival

1. From Davao City:

  • Take a bus or van from Ecoland Bus Terminal to San Francisco, Agusan del Sur.
  • From San Francisco, take a jeepney or van to San Luis.


2. From Butuan City:

  • Take a bus or van from Butuan Bus Terminal to San Francisco, Agusan del Sur.
  • From San Francisco, take a jeepney or van to San Luis.


3. From Manila:

  • Take a flight to Butuan City. From there, follow the directions above.
  • Alternatively, take a long-distance bus from Manila to Davao City and follow the directions above.


4. From Cebu:

  • Take a flight to Butuan City. From there, follow the directions above.
  • Alternatively, take a ferry from Cebu to Surigao City, then take a bus or van to Butuan City and follow the directions above.


Once you arrive in San Luis, you can take a tricycle or motorcycle to get to your specific destination within the municipality.

Agusan Marsh Wildlife Sanctuary 

It is one of Bunawan's main attractions the Agusan Marsh Wildlife Sanctuary. It is the largest wetland ecosystem in the Philippines and a paradise for diverse flora and fauna. Visitors can take boat tours of the marshes and spot several species of birds, including the Philippine eagle, the country's national bird. 


Crocodile Lolong

Crocodile Lolong was a famous crocodile that was captured in the Agusan Marsh in Bunawan, Agusan del Sur, Philippines. It gained international attention due to its massive size, measuring 20.24 feet (6.17 meters) long and weighing 2,370 pounds (1,075 kg) when it was captured in September 2011

After its capture, Crocodile Lolong was placed in a specially-built enclosure at Bunawan Eco-Park, where it became a major tourist attraction for the town.  Its death was a great loss not only for the town of Bunawan but also for the world of crocodile conservation.  The Bunawan Eco-Park has expanded its facilities and added new attractions, including a crocodile sanctuary, a butterfly garden, and a zip line.  The town also holds the annual "Lolong Festival" every September to commemorate the capture of the famous crocodile and raise awareness about wildlife conservation. 

Bunawan Eco Park 

Bunawan Eco Park is a perfect place for nature lovers. There are several trails for visitors to hike and explore lush forests, waterfalls, and natural pools. The park is home to a wide variety of animals, including tarsiers, monkeys, and alligators.
