Dress  up in colorful costumes and join the street party at the Sinulog Festival. A traditional Sinulog outfit usually includes a colorful headdress, a T-shirt or blouse with the Sinulog logo, and comfortable shoes suitable for dancing and walking.

Tugonon Waterfall

Tugonon Waterfall is his seven-step waterfall that falls from a height of about 100 meters. The waterfall is surrounded by lush vegetation and towering trees, making it a perfect destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers. 

 Reaching Tugonon Falls requires about an hour of hiking through dense forests. This trek is not for the faint of heart as it crosses the Gibbon River, climbs steep hills, and traverses rough terrain. The challenging hike is worth the effort, however, as visitors are rewarded with stunning views of the falls. 

 Take a refreshing dip in the cool, clear waters of the natural pools at the base of Tugonong Waterfall. You can also explore different levels of the waterfall and climb to higher levels. 

 In addition to Tugonon Waterfall, Prosperidad has other attractions such as Vega Waterfall, Gibbon River, and Nariyagan Cultural Center. The city also celebrates the Nariyagan Festival each June, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the  Agusan del Sur indigenous people. 

To reach Prosperidad, fly to Butuan City and then take a bus or van to Prosperidad. It takes about 2-3 hours from there. There is also a direct bus from Manila to Prosperidad, which takes about 25 hours. At Prosperidad, visitors can rent motorbikes or tricycles to reach Tugonong Waterfalls.


The Naliyagan Festival

The Naliyagan Festival is an annual festival held in the city of Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur. This six-day festival of his celebrates the city's cultural heritage and the diverse cultural traditions of the various tribes in the state. 

The festival's name, 'Naligagan', means 'United' or 'coming together' in the Manobo language. This reflects the festival's goal of promoting unity and cooperation among the people of Agusan del Sur, regardless of their cultural background. 

The festival features a variety of events and activities, including street dance competitions, cultural performances, sports competitions, and beauty pageants. There are also food fairs and fairs showcasing the state's produce and handicrafts.

Prosperidad is accessible through land transportation from major cities in Mindanao, such as Davao City, Cagayan de Oro City, Butuan City, and Surigao City. Buses and vans ply the routes to Prosperidad from these cities.

From Davao City, you can take a bus or van going to Butuan City or Bislig City and alight at Prosperidad. Travel time is approximately 5-6 hours.

From Cagayan de Oro City, take a bus or van going to Butuan City and transfer to another bus or van going to Prosperidad. Travel time is approximately 6-7 hours.

From Butuan City, you can take a bus or van going to Prosperidad. Travel time is approximately 3-4 hours.

From Surigao City, you can take a bus or van going to Butuan City and transfer to another bus or van going to Prosperidad. Travel time is approximately 4-5 hours.

Once you reach Prosperidad, you can take a tricycle or habal-habal (motorcycle taxi) to reach your destination within the town.
